Dear KMA Family,

I am writing with sad news about the sudden loss of KMA faculty member Mrs. Nancy Dunlap, 61, who was briefly hospitalized and passed away earlier today, December 6, 2019.

On behalf of the KMA family, we have spoken to the Dunlap family to offer our thoughts and condolences in this difficult time.

On Monday morning, December 9, grief support for staff and students will be provided on our campus. The District’s grief support and mental health team is led by Mr. Felipe Flores, Program Specialist, who will also be on site to assist students in Mrs. Dunlap’s classes.

Mrs. Dunlap was hired by the district in 2002, and taught at Elsinore Middle School, where she continued through 2011. She was part of LEUSD’s SCOA virtual school teaching staff in 2011. She has been an English teacher at KMA since 2015.

Again, we offer sympathy and caring thoughts for the Dunlap family and for the students of Mrs. Dunlap.
