The Initiative is a nonprofit, funded in part by the state of California, that partners with school districts across the state to advance local college and career readiness goals. Click here to learn more about the Initiative’s mission, goals, and approach.

No sign-in required:

You must sign in to CaliforniaColleges.edu as a high school student in order to take the below assessments. If you don’t have an account, create one for free:

ASVAB
The ASVAB is an opportunity for students to get an assessment of their academic ability and how that translates into real life occupations. The ASVAB is the assessment that the military utilizes to determine eligibility for the armed forces HOWEVER it is not only a military assessment. All seniors wishing to enlist in military service should see Miss.Angela in the Career Center and get signed up for the ASVAB test. (Other students who aren't enlisting can also take the ASVAB to find careers that would be a good match for them, too!) Testing usually takes about 3 hours.

The ASVAB will be administered at OHS each quarter, be sure to check ParentSquare, Instagram, and weekly announcements so that you don't miss it! You can also take the ASVAB (Armed Forces Vocational Aptitude Battery) at MEPS in San Diego with a military recruiter or via a recruiter-sanctioned testing event. Contact Ms. Angela if you have further questions.
